Slavik Kryklyvyy and Anna Melnikova: New Partnership????
filed in Professional Latin on May.04, 2009
I am not on the internet to spread a rumor ….. but I’ve read on the internet that Anna Melnikova is Slavik‘s new partner more than a couple of times. Is it true? As you can see in this post, Slavik and Hanna Karttunen split earlier this year. Anna is (was?) dancing with Stefano de Filippo, and they are undoubtedly current amateur champions. For Slavik, there aren’t lady professional available, especially at his level, so choosing Anna kinda sounds logical. I need to keep my eyes open for this.

Update on May 14, 2009
I just saw the results from IDSF European Latin Championship 2009, held in Germany on April 25th. Stefano and Anna competed and won. So, the rumor about Slavik and Anna is probably just that, rumor.
Update on September 13, 2009
Slavik and Anna competed in USDC (held in Orland, Florida) yesterday. See this post.

Maybe it wasn’t just a rumor because Anna and Stefano split in Blackpool and you can read on dancesportinfo.net that Anna will be with another partner in the future!!!

Actually, it is not a rumor – this is completely true – they will be dancing together and all of the websites have already confirmed it, but it has been known for a while that blackpool would be their last competition.

As you can see Stefano and Anna split and it’s a really possible rumor because Anna and Slavik are also partners in life…

Thank you for the update. I didn’t know Slavik and Anna are partners in their private lives. Having a close private relationship with a dance partner is a double-edged sword. I hope it’ll work for them, and I look forward to seeing them dance together!

I think that she should not have left Stefano. She should not have done that because her ans stefano were doing so well. But Slavik will not dance for that long because he is getting older he is already soon turning 33 and for dance it is getting older and in a couple of years he will retire but ann is in her 20′s and in the beggining of them so then when he is going to retire then what is she going to do. Also Stefano is the same as slavik and son he will be evn better then him and also he is young so he will keep danciing for a loong time still and he is going to be dancing with his for a long time. But any way Slavik right now is the best dancer in the world and i respect him a lot and also i hope them a lot of luck on their dancing carreer and i hope that they will become world champions but also he should of kept dancing with Karina and they would of won that championships of the world. That is why he chose Anna because she looks like Karina a lot and Karina was slaviks best partner so he is trying to pick a person that looks a lot like Karina Smirnoff and he is never going to find some one as good as karina in her style because she has a style that no one in the world can mimic it and even if they do it is not even going to be close to how she does it.

Although Slavik and Anna have registered to compete in the German Open this August, inside word is that they have now dropped out and will not be competing.

Slavik and Anna are registered to compete on Sept 10 in Orlando, Florida at the United States Dance Championships. I understand that his registration is tentative, however. I have heard that he is having some issues with Russia regarding his representative status.

You mean the WDC World Professional Latin Championship? I believe Slavik and Anna did not qualify because Anna switched the country she represents from Italy to Russia. I think they need to wait for one year to qualify.
