No “America’s Ballroom Challenge” in 2010
filed in Competition, TV on Nov.28, 2009

“America’s Ballroom Challenge,” basically the only TV program that features the actual ballroom competition, will not air next year. It has been taped during the Ohio Star Ball in the past several years; however, PBS and its producers could not secure the funding for the show. So, we will not be able to watch the Ohio Star Ball pro competition next year. What a shame! Last year’s America’s best couple was Ricardo Cocchi and Yulia Zagoruychenko. (You can see their show dance here.
Here is a show dance by Eugene Katsevman and Maria Manusova from the 2009 America’s Ballroom Challenge.

What a shame. The constant repeats of shows on PBS could be cut so the ballroom fans could see this wonderful show. I’ll miss this as I was looking forward to this season.

It’s a huge disappointment. Hopefully, they can get enough funding next year.

Gwen, Repeats are already paid for and there is no additional production costs which is why they run so many.

Was wondering what happened to it. I was so looking forward to it this year. Watched last years’ over and over. Such a disappointment.
