Ricardo Cocchi & Yulia Zagoryuchenko Interview
filed in Interview, Professional Latin on Jan.06, 2010

This is my fourth consecutive post about an interview. Dancebeat has an interview with Ricardo Cocchi and Yulia Zagoryuchenko in their May 2009 issue.
So, this is not a new interview but interesting nonetheless. (The interview is on page 12 in the publication.) I still remember when Yulia and Maxim Kozhevnikov announced their decision to split as partners and the subsequent news about Ricardo as Yulia’s new partner. At the time, I wasn’t sure this new partnership would work out or not.
Apparently I was wrong. Ricardo and Yulia have accomplished so much in a short period of time. They talk about how they cope with their busy schedule and jet lag. They also touch upon their personal life a bit.
The interviewer asked some straight forward questions. For example, she asked about how they feel about always being the second to Michael Malitowski and Joanna Leunis. Also, she did not hesitate to ask a question about a little mishap in the 2009 UK Championship where Yulia fell during the cha cha final. The answers from Ridardo and Yulia are very candid.
Overall, the interview is very inspiring. They say they practice for 4 to 5 hours every day. mmmm. I need to get my dance shoes out and start practicing more.
