Tempo for Dance

Here is the list of tempo for each dance (American style and International style) as specified by NDCA.
 
International Style

Cha Cha   — 31 MPM (124 BPM)
Samba     — 48-50 MPM (96-100 BPM) — 2 beats per measure
Rumba    — 27 MPM (108 BPM)
Paso Doble –60-62 MPM (120-124 BPM) — 2 beats per measure
Jive         — 38-44 MPM (152-176 BPM)

Counting International Rumba

MPM (measures per minute) and BPM (beats per minute)
Rumba is danced to a slow 4/4 (4 beats per measure) time music.  The American style rumba is faster with 32-36 MPM or 128-144 BPM than the International rumba (27 MPM or 108 BPM), according to the NDCA (The National Dance Council of America’s rule book.
